Algerian time on the evening of October 28, 2020, on the occasion of the Feast of the Saints (the birthday of the Prophet),Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad presided the Opening Ceremony of the Prayer Hall of the Grand Mosque Built by the Third Company of China Construction the Third Engineering Bureau .

At the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad Completed the Salat. The Minister of Religious Affairs believes that the Grand Mosque has set a national benchmark and is conducive to the spread of national culture throughout the country and even in neighboring countries.

Algeria Grand Mosque was built by CSCEC Algeria and the Third Company of CSCEC Third Bureau on February 28, 2012, with a total construction area of 400000 square meters, which contains 12 buildings including minaret, prayer hall, cultural center, Koran College, museum and library.At 265 meters high, the minaret is the world's tallest religious building. With a floor area of about 31,000 square meters, the prayer hall is the largest indoor prayer hall in the world. The project has been dubbed Algeria's "Millennium Project", the shining pearl on the Mediterranean and is printed with the country's new 1,000 dinar banknote.
